Susanne Aukes

I’m thrilled to be serving as the Academic Support Strategist here at Ankeny Christian Academy!

I’m a proud graduate of Grand View University, where I earned my Elementary Education License along with endorsements in Reading and Instructional Strategist I: Mild/Moderate. During my first year of teaching, I returned to Grand View to add the Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD endorsement as well.

I spent five years teaching Special Education in Ankeny, supporting K–2 students across academic and behavioral areas. I then served for three years as the building’s Behavioral Special Education teacher. Throughout my time in Ankeny, I was also part of the building leadership team and the district Special Education team.

My husband, Garrett, and I live in Johnston with our energetic German Shorthair Pointer, Strider. We attend Keystone Church in Ankeny and enjoy being involved in our community. In my free time, I love spending time with friends and family, going on walks with Strider, sewing, crafting, baking, and playing card games—Canasta is a favorite at our house! I'm also fan of the Denver Broncos, OKC Thunder, and Iowa State Cyclones.

I’m so grateful to be part of the ACA family and look forward to partnering with staff and families to support our students as they grow in both learning and faith!
