I’ve been a believer since I was 10 years old. I’m so thankful for my parents who ensured I attended church and had a Christian community around me. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University. Later, I attended Iowa State University where I earned my Masters in School Administration. My previous experiences over the past 35 years as a teacher, Dean of Students, Curriculum Coach, Human Resource Manager, and Principal have been great opportunities for me to live out God’s will for my life. I’ve been blessed to work in both public and private school settings.
My personal mission is to motivate and empower others. I find my most success when I allow God to work through me, despite my own shortcomings. It is a privilege to support teachers and students both academically and spiritually. My life verse is Proverbs 3:5 – 6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.
Outside of school, I enjoy my Mini-Schnauzer, Gracie. I have an adult son who lives in Atlanta. My daughter and granddaughter live here in Ankeny. I enjoy traveling, especially to warm places, watching football, and music of most genres!
