Hi! My name is Katie Fees, and I am a Kindergarten teacher here at Ankeny Christian Academy. I graduated from Grand View University in 2026 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, along with endorsements in K-8 English Language Arts and K-8 Reading. I was very fortunate to complete my student teaching at ACA in the spring of 2026 with Mrs. Crossman and Mr. Sidlinger in fourth grade. During that experience, I fell in love with the school, its mission, and the ACA family. I am so honored to be a part of this community, where I have the opportunity to invest in students both academically and spiritually!
I was blessed to grow up in a loving, Christian home in Des Moines, Iowa. From a young age, I learned that I was a sinner deserving of death but because of God’s great love for me, He sent His one and only son to pay the price that I owe by dying on the cross for me and that if I put my faith in Him, I shall have eternal life with Him in Heaven. At 12 years old, by the grace of God, I accepted Jesus into my life and was baptized later that year. I have been in awe of God’s faithfulness in my life as He has continued to grow me, use me, draw me closer to Him, and bring me a sense of joy and fulfillment that can only come from following Him.
In my free time, I love to read, play golf, watch football (Go Packers and Hawkeyes!), play pickleball or spikeball, and spend time with my friends and family. I attend Calvary Chapel Des Moines, where I serve on the tech team, in Children’s Ministry, and with the youth group.
Teaching and working with kids has always been a passion of mine, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to teach at ACA. It is a joy to share my love of learning with my students while helping them grow in their knowledge of Jesus and His love for them.
