My name is Isabel Boer, and I am so excited to be joining the ACA community this coming school year!

I grew up in a Christian home in NW Indiana. I was blessed to have been surrounded by God my whole life as I attended a Reformed church and a Christian school. I am blessed to have had all of those means of God working in my life, and I am grateful that I grew up knowing about Him and His promise of salvation. God used this Christian education throughout my K-12 years to
guide me to Dordt University.

I graduated last year from Dordt with a degree in Secondary Education and an emphasis in Social Sciences. From there, I came back to Indiana and took a position at DeMotte Christian School for my first year of teaching. While at DeMotte I have had lots of fun teaching Bible, Literature, and Social Studies at the middle school level. My first year of teaching at DeMotte has been incredibly fulfilling and has affirmed my love for teaching; I am looking forward to focusing more on History here at ACA. I truly enjoy middle schoolers and the challenge of creating engaging lessons that really bring them into history and how God sovereignly designs and controls everything.

I will be moving to Ankeny this summer and getting married to my fiancé, Daniel Stephenson, whom I met while at Dordt. We are both excited to start this new chapter in our lives and to become a part of the Ankeny community! As I anticipate this big change in my life, I am confident that God will use my time here to make a positive impact at ACA while ultimately using this experience to shape me too.
