I am thrilled to be teaching second grade at Ankeny Christian Academy, a place that holds a very special place in my heart. I’ve been blessed to teach and serve in a variety of roles over the years. My greatest joy is helping young learners grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
I was born and raised in Galesburg, Illinois, in a Christian home where faith and family were foundational. It was during my high school years that I accepted Christ into my heart at a youth group meeting, and my relationship with Jesus has guided every step of my personal and professional life since.
I began my teaching career at ACA in 2012, teaching second grade before my husband and I moved to Minnesota. There, I served as a second grade teacher and math interventionist in the Rochester Public Schools.
After returning to Iowa in 2017, I worked at the Heartland AEA as a library associate and later at the Ankeny Public Library while raising our two children. Becoming a stay-at-home mom was such a precious season of life, and I’m grateful for that time. In 2025, God laid it on my heart to return to the classroom, and I’ve felt deeply called back to teaching ever since.
It has been an incredible blessing to return to ACA, first as a 4th Grade TA, and now back in the second grade classroom where I feel most at home. Having one child already attending ACA and another joining next year makes it even more meaningful.
My husband and I have been married for 13 years, and we share our home with our two children and our golden retriever. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, going for walks, enjoying Iowa sunsets, watching movies, and cuddling with my kids.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach at ACA, where I can share my love for learning and for Jesus with my students every day.
